Thee Organ Trio

Thee Organ Trio is a brand new group, built to explore the intersection of Jazz, Funk, Soul, and Gospel in equal measure. The name has a few meanings- 'Thee' being a counterculture signifier for punk bars such as Thee Parkside or Thee Stork Club, and a retro angle for throwback Soul bands such as Thee Sacred Souls or Thee Sinseers- demonstrating our focus on deep cuts, throwbacks, and rejection of stale conventions while still acknowledging the roots that bind it all together.

As musicians, often the highlight of our week is the 'post-service jam'; where the church band, freshly warmed up from their obligations to the congregation, get to jam freely on whatever crosses their minds. Songs fade into each other and merge seamlessly, hidden jams develop from overlooked parts of a song- a band strengthens its bonds by exploring new ground and synthesizing something truly original.
