This collaboration brings together two accomplished musicians from different continents and musical backgrounds. Cyril Guiraud, French born, Bay Area-based saxophonist known for his work with luminaries including Mark de Clive-Lowe, Michel Petrucciani, Kenny Garrett, and George Clinton, brings his "Coltrane-inspired lyricism with a modern, tender touch" to the partnership. Omree Gal-Oz, with over two decades of experience in the Bay Area jazz scene, contributes his diverse musical palette spanning traditional bebop through contemporary avant-garde approaches developed through his USC education and extensive teaching and performance. The duo's approach honors the great tradition of saxophone-piano partnerships while incorporating contemporary harmonic concepts and cross-cultural musical perspectives. Their music seamlessly weaves together Guiraud's European sensibilities with Gal-Oz's deep American jazz education and experience.
